Overveiw

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more, in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.

Competence in this unit does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.

A boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform HRWL.

This unit requires a person operating an EWP to plan for the work/task, prepare for the work/task, perform work/task & pack up.

The course fee of $430* per person is reuired to be paid in advance. Please refer to our Schedule of Fees and Charges for full information available from the student into tab. Printed copies are available from the AMS Training office.

Additional fees are payable to NT Worksafe for processing of High-Risk Work Licence applications.

Where the value for an individual’s combined course fee is more than $1500, a deposit is required, with the balance to be paid before the training is completed.

 

Entry Requirements

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age

 

Reading

  • Identifies and interprets information from workplace procedures, documentation, and regulations.

  • Find out gas testing regime/sampling patterns

  • Interpret and report readings


Writing

  • Produces and completes written documents required for workplace procedures.

  • Maintain records of tests and results.


Self - Management

Monitors and minimises own exposure to worksite risks and hazards during activities.


Oral Communication

  • Uses a range of communication techniques and systems to communicate with others

  • Communicate required actions

If English is a second language for participants or you have any concerns with Language literacy and or numeracy, or any other learning challenges or needs, you should discuss these issues with the administration team prior to enrolment and the trainer assessor prior to the course commencement.

Learning materials are made available to all students once the course fees have been paid, allowing self-paced learning prior to the course.
