IELTS

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the proficiency of English language of the people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication.

Many people know that they have to get a certain IELTS score in order to fulfill their study or work ambitions. The test uses a 9-band scale to clearly identify level of proficiency. In the IELTS 9-band grading system, a score of 1 indicates non-user of the language, whilst band 9, therefore, means an expert level of competence.

A score of 6 indicates a ‘competent user’, who generally has an effective command of the English language. A band score of 7.0 is evidence of a good command of English in complex and detailed language contexts.

The IELTS test includes Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking assessments, in that order. The test is available in paper or computer-based format based on the candidate's preferences.

Reasons to take an IELTS test:

Having cleared the IELTS exam with a good score, one can apply for study at International Colleges, Universities or Immigration and Professional certifications in the English speaking countries like USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia and Canada, etc.

There are two types of IELTS exams. Based on the type of exam, there are two different trainings  

Academic – The academic IELTS test is for candidates applying for higher education or for professional certifications.

General – The general training IELTS test is for candidates who are going to English speaking countries for immigration, work experience or training programs. This tests focuses on basic survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts.

The IELTS score is accepted by the immigration authorities and continues to play an important role in language assessment as a means to control the migration numbers.
