Listening

The module begins with an overview of the IELTS Listening Test and the different sections it include. The students are provided with the important facts about this module and what it is designed to assess. Following this, students are taught how to approach each section of the IELTS Listening Test and the types of questions need to be answered. Then they have opportunities to practise these types of questions and gain the skills that are required.

Speaking

This module outlines the different features of the Speaking Test. In preparation for Part 1 of the Speaking Test, the main focus is on some of the grammar that the students can use to talk about themselves. They are also given some examples of how to extend answers, or make them longer.

For Part 2 of the test, in the “Individual Long Turn” they are taught how to analyze the task effectively and how to organize ideas so that they have a good start, and end, to their talk.

For Part 3 of the test, “The Discussion”, they’ll learn to develop vocabulary related to common Part 3 topics and also some of the common grammar features necessary for success in the discussion. This includes focusing on tenses and making comparisons.

In this module, students can watch and learn from individual and group sessions taking different parts of the test.

Reading

The reading module begins with an overview of the IELTS Reading Test and what it includes. The students are provided with the important information about what the test is designed to assess and the different question types used in the test and how to approach them.

There are opportunities to practise the reading skills that have to be learned and improve the reading speed to complete the test within the stipulated time of one hour.

Writing

The writing module begins with an overview of the IELTS Writing Test and what it includes. The two tasks involved in the academic and general test are taken into consideration as per student requirement.

In preparation for academic Task 1, students learn how to identify different types of visuals, identify and describe the topic and the main features of these visuals, and also how to write an overview paragraph to summarize the key information.

In describing data for Task 1 of the test the students are taught about what language to use to describe data, as well as how to select and group information. They are also focused at the language used for ordering ideas in paragraphs. In addition, this module offers the chance to practise writing the opening and data description paragraphs.

In writing task I for general IELTS module students are taught how to provide personal correspondence, elicit and provide general factual information, express needs, wants, likes and dislikes and express opinions (views, complaints etc.) while writing the letter.

In preparation for Task 2, the students are taught to take a closer look at the essay question so that they can help themselves answer all its parts and also provided ways of planning and organizing the essay with proper plan of an introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion.

They learn to analyze the different parts of an IELTS essay topic, and look in more detail at some possible task types in Task 2, and get explanation how they are assessed in terms of good structure and appropriate language and also practice of proofreading and editing. Additionally, students can get feedback on their writing using the IELTS evaluating criteria.
