IELTS

IELTS is the most widely recognised English language qualification in the world and is especially beneficial for students wishing to demonstrate language ability for higher education, immigration and employment (both in the UK and abroad.) At Simply English Edinburgh we prepare students for both the Academic IELTS (for University places) and IELTS General Training (for immigration purposes).

Please check with your institution which level you are required to achieve as these differ. Our classes aim to ensure that students are familiar with all aspects of the exam structure and timing as well as prepared to meet the language requirements in each of the four parts, reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Students will have the opportunity to use practice exam papers, have regular progress checks provided by their teacher and homework. We also hold mock exams so that students can gain an insight into how their exam will be on the day, which we correct and provide feedback on. This also gives students an opportunity to see what aspects of the exam need to be improved before booking their test.
