The Test Preparation Program focuses its coursework on introducing and refining the specific skills students need to prepare for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Courses will rotate depending on student enrollment and interest.
Placement Test
Students with high-intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency (levels 4 - 8) are welcome to apply to this course. All new students must take an online placement test to determine their English level before starting the Intensive IELTS Preparation.
The placement test is part of the required online pre-arrival orientation. Students who do not obtain the required English level for this program will be transferred to the Academic English or Communication and Culture program.

Use these sessions any way you like, be it to practice for the Speaking session of the exam, go over exercises, come up with a new study strategy, etc. You will sit down with the same instructors that already know you from class, and therefore can continuously assess your progress.
At HOFT, we offer quality test preparation classes to help you pass the TSI, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, TOEFL and IELTS. Our experienced instructors have scored in the top percentiles on their tests and will tailor your preparatory classes to fit your exact needs.
IELTS tests all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner.
IELTS course is offered by California Language Academy. Our courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced teacher who are extremely dedicated to ensuring you leave with all the necessary skills to broaden your horizons and never be lost for words again.
This 8-week course gives an overview of what students can expect on the IELTS, then focuses on techniques for completing the reading, writing, listening, and speaking sections of the IELTS Academic test format.
