Chieftain Training is the trading name/brand used by two separate Not For Profit organisations, Southampton Boat Club Ltd. and STCW Ltd.
Southampton Boat Club has existed informally for several decades and was originally a small group of local sailors, power boaters and sea fishermen operating on the River Itchen. In 2018 the members formalised their group’s status into a Limited Company.
The Club organises training courses for leisure boaters and those seeking work within the recreational boating industry. Courses are run from Bitterne Park, Southampton and Helensburgh, Scotland.
STCW Ltd. is a training centre and focuses on the provision of training for commercial seafarers. Courses are run from Willments Shipyard, Southampton.
Neither organisation has any share holders. Any profit we make is ploughed back into the organisations to ensure we continue working towards our key objectives.
Our Key Objectives
A structured one-day workshop which provides an overview of some of the key elements of effective delivery to how we approach the design, training and facilitation of our courses at the Recovery College.
The training course is delivered over 2 days in Swansea, and provides participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training. No matter what kind of training you do, whether it be sales, shop floor skills, IT or financial planning - this train the trainer course
This course is ideal for people who have to train as part of their role, for company trainers who deliver regularly and for training professionals looking to sharpen their skills and pick up new delivery ideas. Everyone who wishes to be a more effective trainer is welcome.
The quality of output is directly linked to the quality of input. As a result, how effective a staff member is at executing their role is very much dependent on how they have been trained.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) formerly known as PTLLS, has been designed to introduce teaching for individuals who aspire or currently work in adult education.
