Legislation requires Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) to identify, control and manage hazards. A legal requirement exists to monitor and review the control measures implemented to ensure effectiveness.
When an incident occurs, it is a timely opportunity to investigate contributory factors that led to or caused the incident and to review and possibly change the current control measures to prevent future recurrence.
This 4½ hour course has been designed to provide an insight into incident investigation and outlines the need for investigation of incidents, current theories of the causes of incidents, hierarchy of controls and a practical investigation component.
