You will gain valuable knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements for investigations and develop skills to conduct investigations.

Practical activities are included to transfer knowledge into carrying out an investigation on a workplace incident scenario, including inspection, review of practices, procedures, policy and reporting requirements. A Certificate of Attendance is issued on completion.

The Workplace Incident Investigation course is designed to equip your investigation team members with the processes and skills required to conduct an incident investigation in their workplace.

Practical activities are carried out using a simulated Workplace Incident Investigation. The simulation requires attendees to follow workplace procedures, meet legislative requirements, complete Incident and report forms.

The Practicals will assist in applying knowledge gained; to develop confidence for attendees to complete an actual incident investigation.

This can assist your workplace to conduct efficient investigations, collect appropriate data for analysis and reporting to ensure Legislative requirements are met in a post In cident phase.

This includes review of Incident reports, data analysis, working as a team to recommend control measures to prevent/minimise further incidents of a similar nature.

More complex practical scenario tasks include what data to collect / data analysis methods, communication requirements, determining incident contributing factors and applying controls; submitting compliance reports to Companyt and WorkSafe.

One Day Course

 The one day option for the Workplace Incident Investigation course involves practical activities, learning and knowledge in:

  • Legislative requirements

  • Workplace policies and procedures

  • Techniques, tools and processes for identifying hazards

  • Identifying hazards and apply control measures to risks

  • Apply Risk assessment techniques

  • Contributing to Hazard, Risk &  Incident reporting

  • Hazard / Risk control plans

Two Day Supervisor / Managers' Course

The two day managers' option for the Workplace Incident Investigation course involves :

  • Company & Personal legislative responsibilities

  • Processes for incident investigations

  • Facilitating Incident Investigations

  • Data collection / analysis of data

  • Primary and Secondary contributors

  • Investigation reporting

  • Analysing and implementing hazard control methods

  • Legislative and Compliance reporting requirements
