The NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation course is a one-day, practically focussed session. It will up-skill attendees to complete low to medium level incident investigations and assist proactively in high-level investigations.
Completing thorough and effective incident investigations is critical in improving safety performance. Accidents can occur even in well-run and highly compliant organisations. It’s important on these rare occasions that we find out what caused the incident and put measures in place to ensure a similar incident never happens again.
On completion of this qualification you will be equipped with the necessary skills to carry out an unaided incident investigation of a noncomplex incident. The qualification will take you through the four steps to a good incident investigation. This includes providing you with the skills required to identify the immediate, underlying and root causes of incidents. Witness interviewing is a valuable skill for an incident investigator. The qualification, therefore, introduces you to the PEACE model for interviewing.
The course was developed by NEBOSH in partnership with The HSE, and is ideal for employers, supervisors, SHE champions and safety reps.
