Infection Control Skill Set

Introduction

Infection control standards in different job roles across Australia has been impacted by COVID 19. This short course will provide specialized training for individuals to respond in an appropriate manner to reduce or minimise the risk and transmission of communicable diseases such as COVID-19.

A set of skills to follow organisational infection prevention and control policies and procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks in the workplace.

To support Australia to recover from the economic crisis and to rebuilt the workforce, there is a huge demand of trained workers who will help to bring back confidence in customers . It will also help to minimise the spread of the pandemic COVID-19.

A large number of workers require specialised skills to prevent the transmission of infection while completing their normal work activities

Target Group

This skill set is to enable individuals to have the required skills and knowledge to apply infection control practices across the retail, health, food and beverage and transport and logistic sectors.

This may include people who are currently working in a health service such as hospitals, aged and community care centres, medical centres, surgeries hospitality, and customer service roles .
