This awareness course has been designed to highlight the importance of minimising the risk of infection in the workplace in order to prevent diseases and infections from spreading.
It also explains the requirement to comply with legal responsibilities under different rules and regulations such as the Public Health Regulations, RIDDOR 2013 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Infections are generally easy to deal with but on occassions when they are not managed or dealt with in an effective manner, they can create serious and sometimes life threatening problems.
The aims of this are to provide an understanding of the legal responsibilities in the work place, the methods of arranging an infection control risk assessment and explains the importance of maintaining a clean working environment. The course also covers the correct hand washing procedure.
