Infection prevention and control (IPAC) is an essential component for quality care and safety for residents, clients and staff in healthcare facilities and in community settings such as personal care homes, group homes and shelters.

Upon completion of these modules, you will have gained knowledge in reducing the risk of spreading infectious illness to yourself and to others.This course outlines five key areas essential to preventing the spread of infections. They are:

  •     Routine Practices
  •     Additional Precautions
  •     Outbreak Management
  •     Occupational Health and Safety

At the end of each module are quizzes to test your learning. Additional learning and reading materials are in the reference section at the end of the modules. You are free to move back and forth through the modules.
