This regulated Level 2 qualification in Infection Prevention and Control is designed for people who work in a health and social care setting and are responsible for infection, prevention and control. The course is designed to develop the Learner’s understanding of their role and responsibilities in helping prevent infection from spreading.
What does this course cover?
The importance of infection prevention and control including common illnesses that can spread easily and identifying groups at higher risk of infection
The roles and responsibilities in infection prevention and control
How to minimise the risk of infection
Understanding the responsibilities of using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Understanding the importance of good personal hygiene
How to follow the procedure for handwashing
Delivery Methods
Face to face (4 hours in the classroom)
Remote course (4 hours online virtual classroom)
On-site course (training for groups at a time and venue of your choice)
Open course (courses available at over 40 of our training venues)
Course Pre-requisites and Reasonable Adjustments
There are no course pre-requisites for the Infection Prevention and Control (Level 2 RQF), however it is recommended that the learner has a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy.
If you feel changes may be needed to the course or its assessment because of a disability, please inform us as soon as possible or at least 2 weeks before the start date. In most cases this will allow us enough time to assess your requirements and implement any adjustments.
Assessments
The course assessment is based on a theory test in the form of a multiple-choice question paper.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive an Ofqual regulated Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention and Control (RQF) e-certificate.
