We are a teacher training partner based in Sheffield providing training for anyone wanting to teach in early years, primary, secondary or special schools.
Working in partnership with both Sheffield universities, we provide supportive training, rooted in the very best classroom practice.
At the heart of the Sheffield Teacher Training Alliance sits Silverdale School and we are also part of the South Yorkshire Teaching Hub.
We have worked hard to build an alliance of schools across Sheffield, Derbyshire and beyond. Working with over 60 schools and two universities, we believe that collaboration is key to our success.

Learning with credibility
We are a licensed facilitation school for OLEVIA Coaching which is the central tenet of the Improving Teaching Programme (ITP) and the Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP).
Our lead school, Silverdale, has been awarded Silver status for delivering evidence-based CPD and excellence in professional learning by the Teacher Development Trust (TDT).
We are licenced to provide the NASBTT (National Association of School-Based Teacher Trainers) Level 3 training for mentors, coaches and facilitators.
The level 3 award is a short introductory course which prepares new entrants for teaching in the lifelong learning sector. If teaching, tutoring, or training is part of your remit, you may be required to progress to a further qualification appropriate to your role.
Teaching Assistants make a difference to children and young people's lives every day. Through dedicated support in classrooms, Teaching Assistants help to foster education and development through one-to-one support and guidance in the classroom.
This course will be offered at multiple start dates throughout the academic year. To gain this qualification students will need to achieve 11 mandatory units.
This course can be completed in as little as 6 weeks. Depending on the units taken the Average learning time is between 48-61 hours. This course has a limit of 6 months to complete from enrolment date.
This course at University Centre West Anglia offers a higher-level qualification for anyone working as a teaching assistant, early years nursery worker or playworker. It’s also ideal if you want to study before starting your career.
