Our inspection and testing course is designed for electricians and associated trade professionals interested in developing their knowledge and skills in electrical inspection and testing. The course covers all of the elements of initial verification and periodic inspection and testing.
After completing the course, candidates will be able to undertake the City & Guilds 2391-52 final assessment.
The course covers a range of topics, including:
Electrical installations – this section covers the requirements for electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671, including earthing and bonding, protection against electric shock, and selection and erection of equipment.
Inspection and testing – this section covers the inspection and testing of electrical installations, including initial verification, periodic inspection and testing, and certification.
Fault diagnosis and rectification – this section covers the identification and rectification of faults in electrical installations, including the use of test instruments and fault-finding techniques.
Electrical safety management – this section covers the management of electrical safety in the workplace, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, and emergency procedures.
Throughout the course, candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills through a range of activities and simulated assessments. They will also be required to complete written assignments and examinations to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge and understanding of the subject.
Upon completion of the course, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of electrical testing and inspection and will be in a position to undertake the two-day City & Guilds final assessment. On successfully passing the 2391-52 examinations, qualified persons will be able to carry out inspection and testing on electrical installations in accordance with the requirements of BS 7671. They will also be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to diagnose and rectify faults in electrical installations and to manage electrical safety in the workplace.
On purchasing the course-only option, candidates are not obligated to complete the City & Guilds 2391-52 final assessment. The course can be used as a refresher training course or updating CPD. Course access will remain active for 12 months after enrollment.
