During this Instructional Design (ID) course you will learn how to develop sound instruction to enable adult learning experiences to be more efficient, effective and appealing.

We will teach you the skills you need to consider when designing and developing valuable training programs that address different learning styles.

Over three days, the course follows a systematic process that will assist you to develop a training course that is professional, well-designed and cost-effective.

Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to practice some of these key skills when developing training and educational programs.

Course Format

  • This classroom course provides 3 days (24 hours) of instruction delivered by an official IATA Instructor.
  • Take this course at an IATA Training Center, Regional Training Partner, or on-demand as in-house training.
  • Student performance will be based on an assessment.

Prerequisites

  • Recommended level is Intermediate and Advanced.
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 for courses in English or the equivalent level for other languages.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Interpret adult teaching and learning principles
  • Summarise the benefits of using an Instructional Design (ID) process
  • Apply project management techniques to ID
  • Use needs analysis to validate training need and create training scope
  • Develop learning objectives and corresponding lesson plans
  • Design appropriate learner involvement and learner assessment strategies
  • Outline and present an ID project

Certificate Awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 70% or higher on all exercises and exams. A special distinction is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.
