Intensive Turbo course - start as a Beginner, leave as a Pro

This is our accelerated Flagship Offering, specifically suited to starting a business in the fashion/textile product industry. It provides the course attendee with a solid foundation in garment construction techniques.

You'll learn the construction techniques involved with:

• skirts;

• dresses;

• tops with sleeves; &

• shirts/blouses

As part of your course, you will receive 10 patterns that include these techniques.Attend 20 lessons of 3 hours + 6 SewAlongs of 4 hours each

During the Intensive Turbo course we focus on both theory & practical content. The pace is however faster than on our other courses, aimed at those who wish to earn an income or start a small business from their sewing skills – hence the title.

Both the Absolute Beginners as well as Intensive Turbo courses are suitable for the total novice.

No experience , machine or prior learning is required.

Everything is provided for while in class {haberdashery & fabric for sample making}.

• We sell calico for project should you like to make a sample range .

• Sewing Cafe Memberships available at an extra cost if you wish to practice and/or work on your craft/products at our Studio.

We are affiliated with German Fashion magazine publisher BURDA, and our course conveners are all Burda certified or holders of diplomas and degrees in design or fashion. We therefor are able to offer a great learning environment with state-of-the art support materials, video tutorials and sew much more.

We are not a tertiary education facility. As such, we are able to offer this very exclusive format of teaching where you are one of only 6 people attending a course. As we are not offering a qualification, we have no formal application process for any of our courses - we welcome everyone as our courses are not NQF rated.

We do however suggest that members attending our course are able to read and write English at minimum Grade 11 equivalent and for attendance of a pattern making course, a good level of mathematical literacy is highly recommended.
