Why Pursue A Bachelor's Degree In Interior Design
UTSA’s Interior Design degree is a four-year professional degree accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). Our program prepares students to design spaces that enhance human experiences within the environment.
Key themes guide our curriculum plan fostering leadership in design and professional practice through the mastery of knowledge and skills, collaboration with allied disciplines such as architecture and construction science and management, and outreach through service-learning and sponsored programs.
The curriculum is studio-based and integrates the theories you learn in class with hands-on practice to foster your creativity and skill.
Students and faculty exist and thrive within a collaborative workspace and studio culture specific to our shared creative work. After graduating, you will be able to design beautiful, functional spaces that respond to people’s needs and wants.
Admission Requirements
When you apply to UTSA, you select the major you'd like to study. The choice of major will not impact if you get admitted to the University (all students must meet UTSA's general admission requirements); however, some majors will require additional admission requirements to be able to declare the major your freshman year.
The best way to learn about UTSA is to experience it firsthand. Located in the nation’s seventh-largest city, our UTSA Ambassadors and staff are excited to showcase what UTSA has to offer you. We offer many ways to discover all UTSA has to offer and what it means to be a Roadrunner.
A college campus will be your home for several years, so touring campus is a big deal. Led by student ambassadors, see what our campus looks like and what UTSA can do for you to enable you to reach your educational goals. Group tours are also available.
More than just a campus tour, various academic or campus partners host in-person visits on campus that could include a presentation, specialized tour of certain facilities, student panels, a meet-and-greet with faculty and staff, and more.
