Dunwoody’s Interior Design program focus on core principles of interior architecture and design to prepare you for a career in both residential and commercial design.
Using principles of interior architecture, design theories, interior materials, and computer-aided drafting, you will create and present unique design plans to peers, industry professionals, and potential clients.
Build your portfolio, collaborate with other departments, work on real projects with local organizations, and learn from industry experts. Opportunities to participate in both local and national student design competitions will help you build your resume and gain recognition in the design community.
Software you will use includes a suite of creative and design software used at most Interior Design firms. This includes programs like Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
In addition to entering the Interior Design profession, graduates of the program have gone on to master’s level study in fields like themed entertainment design and urban design at institutions like Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia and the Institute of Advanced Architecture in Catalonia, Spain.
Dunwoody’s Interior Design program is a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. The College accepts transfer students from other interior design schools into years two and three of our program.
It begins with learning. But that is only the beginning. At Dunwoody, we challenge students to come determined and graduate destined. That means being ready to do things, ready to apply that learning.
And ready to understand that knowledge alone will never truly satisfy. If you are hungry, if you have a passion, if you are determined to learn, create, make, and refine – Dunwoody is right for you.
We welcome students from all backgrounds – new high school graduates, returning military members, and adults who want to hone marketable skills. Dunwoody will provide you with state-of-the-art labs, real-world tools, and educators who have worked as professionals in the field.
Vision
Dunwoody College of Technology seeks to emerge as a first-choice, nationally-recognized leader in technical education, providing a full college experience rooted in innovative education.
Mission
Dunwoody changes lives by building opportunities for graduates to have successful careers, to develop into leaders and entrepreneurs, and to engage in “the better performance of life’s duties.”

Strategic Goals
The Interior Design major prepares students to design innovative, functional, supportive and responsible interior environments that positively impact the quality of life.
The Interior Design certificate develops students' knowledge in space design, materials and furnishing. Interior Design is not just decorating; it involves many aspects of architectural design and planning as well.
The Interior Design curriculum, culminating in an AAS degree, provides a balance of technical, creative, and business training necessary for a career in the interior design profession.
Through the exploration of the art and architecture of environmental design, students solve problems in a broad range of built environments. Students work closely with faculty in a studio environment similar to the professional design office experience.
Accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), the BFA curriculum emphasizes human-centered and evidence-based design that, through advanced research methods, addresses current social concerns, ergonomics, and sustainability.
