Bring in your own projects and customize the workshop to explore topics of interest to you. Introduction to After Effects or prior After Effects experience is required as a prerequisite to this workshop.
Read before registering
Prior to the class, please create a profile on zoom and download the free version of the application. You will receive an email from lift with an invitation link to join the workshop one hour before the class begins which will prompt you to open the application or web browser.
Please ensure that you log in using a zoom account with a profile name that appears as the same name registered for the class. If not, for security reasons, you may not be permitted to join. During the workshop, we advise that you keep your microphone on mute to minimize external noise and that you unmute when participating in class discussions. Please also arrive to the session on time for attendance and class participation.
The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is an artist-run charitable organization dedicated to facilitating excellence in the moving image through media arts education and production resources. LIFT exists to provide support and encouragement for independent filmmakers and artists through affordable access to production, post-production and exhibition equipment; professional and creative development; workshops and courses; commissioning and exhibitions; artist residencies; and a variety of other services. Founded in 1981 by a small collective, LIFT has since grown to become one of the foremost centres of its kind globally.

The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto is supported by its membership, Canada Council for the Arts (Media Arts Section), Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Ontario Arts Foundation, the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council.
In addition to deepening the notions seen during the first part, including masks, expressions, the extraction of a green screen and 3D, the training will focus on time effects and camera trajectory tracking with Mocha. Also covered will be the puppet tool, character animation, and animation curves.
After Effects is offered by Nifco. Nifco is governed by an eleven member board of directors composed of a full Range of founding members, senior producers and directors, as well as new filmmakers.
Adobe after effects is the industry-standard motion graphics, visual effects, and compositing software. This is a hands-on, fast-paced course where students gain the technical skills to create motion graphics, animation, and special effects for video.
