Description
Join us and learn new knitting techniques! In this class we'll focus on learning two-color Brioche using the Brioche My Heart pattern from Knit Graffiti Designs.
This is not a beginner level class. Students should be familiar with knit, purl, k2tog, and p2tog stitches. You also need experience reading a knitting pattern. We'll teach you the rest!
Students will leave with one Mini Brioche heart and some serious new skills! Cost of class includes pattern, yarn, needles, and instruction.
Sustainable Craft Practices:
As a crafter, I wanted a place where one could go and learn all aspects of fiber arts, and so Fiber Parts was born.
As a small business owner, I wanted to create a place where you can learn about where your fiber comes from; and help build sustainability and support for the local fiber economy. We strive to build relationships with the people who grow our fiber and who we source our materials from because it matters who we work with and the community we build.
All our yarns and fibers are made, milled, and dyed in the US. We will occasionally carry a line of specialty fibers that are not grown in the US as a featured item. We work with small batch fiber farms and mills to source our yarns, focusing on revitalizing heritage craft producers.
We regularly hold drives for donated goods, and continually work within our community support and uplift marginalized folx.
The intent of the KAL / CAL is to enable participants to try out a new skill, design, technique, or yarn type. Most of the designs selected are for advanced beginners and up. We encourage everyone to push their skills a bit and suggest you try a project or two.
Learn to knit in part one of this knitting basics class! You'll learn a long-tail cast on, knitting, and purling and start your own scarf. Join us for part two to learn to bind off your scarf once you're finished!
Adults who want to learn to knit can sign up for a single class or an ongoing session of four 1.5 hour classes. All materials are provided, or you're welcome to bring your own pattern, needles and yarn. Learn to cast on and make a simple scarf or hat. No experience is necessary!
You will learn how to make a garment from knit/stretchy fabric from start to finish: Finding a pattern, deciphering the pattern, choosing the right fabric and notions, cutting the pattern to fit you, and finally garment construction
Whether you have never held a pair of knitting needles in your hand before, you used to knit and are returning to it again, or you know how to knit and want to learn to purl, our Learn to Knit class is right for you.
