In this class you will learn the tools, techniques, and skills required to create your very first crochet project. You will learn about different yarn types, how to read a yarn label, get a crash course on crochet hooks, and learn other useful tips and tricks.
We will also go over the very basic foundation stitches and terms that will lay the groundwork for you to create your first project.
After practicing these skills you will be ready to start your crochet hobby.
If time permits you will start to create a Mug Coaster or Bookmark!
Easy Going Sewing began in 2014 as one after-school class per week. We now offer weekday and weekend classes for adults and kids, as well as winter break camps and eight weeks of summer camps near the Tucker/Northlake/Spaghetti Junction area.
In this class, we’ll cover everything you need to know to crochet – from the basics of how to hold your hook to the four most common crochet stitches. You will be making a small pouch which will be great for holding all your new crochet hooks!
If you’ve never picked up needles or a hook (or if your skills are very rusty), you can take a Learn to Knit or Crochet Class.Â
Whatever your experience level, I help knitters follow and fully understand their patterns, create new designs, and guide them carefully through the process of fixing simple and complex mistakes.
This is the class to take if you have never knit before! You will learn the basics for a strong foundation. Starting with how to cast on, knit stitch, and purl stitch.Â
This is your chance to make that tree skirt for beloved friends and family. A very quick and easy tree skirt will make everyone happy. It looks so much more difficult than it is....really! Select five beautiful fabrics (most one yard) and you will have a memorable gift.
