Students will be introduced to object-oriented programming and elements of the Java language while learning to code their text-based RPG (roleplaying game).
No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with everyday tasks using a computer operating system (text-editing and understanding directory structures) and keyboarding is required. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day.
Our Technology and Science camps are hosted by local area Community Ed or Parks and Recreation Departments. You will need to register directly with them for our classes. Cost and actual grade offered at the location will vary and are set by the locations.
Learn Python coding including basics of programming and fundamental techniques used in object-oriented programming.
Build on the skills learned from “Introduction to Java Programming I: Foundations and Syntax Basics” and learn the basics of writing classes that serve as blueprints of concepts or objects that are represented in a programming problem.
This course continues and expands students' understanding of issues related to cybersecurity. Students learn more advanced skills, such as ethical hacking/penetration testing, security testing and systems/network defense and countermeasures
This is an introductory programming course provides a strong foundation that would allow students to further their skills with additional education.
