Intro to Machine Sewing - Woven Fabrics

All materials included. Please send a snack with your student if they will get hungry during this 3.5 hour class.

Class Details:

If you've never used a sewing machine, then this is the class for you! This is a pre-requisite for all other classes on the sewing machine.

In this class, you will learn to:

• thread the machine

• wind a bobbin

• make a rolled hem on your baby blanket while you get used to a 5/8" seam allowance

• learn to pin correctly and sew in the round on pillowcases

• make a casing for your drawstring bag (this is the same way you make an elastic waist for your PJs)

These skills lay a strong foundation for you to build on with future sewing projects. In this class, you will complete 3 projects: a cotton pillowcase, a flannel baby blanket, and a cotton drawstring bag.
