This workshop is perfect for the beginner with little to no sewing experience or for someone who hasn’t sewn in awhile and needs a refresher before venturing further. In this class, our goal is to give you an intimidation-free orientation to machine basics like threading a machine, loading a bobbin, sewing a straight seam, and more.
Plus you will leave with your very own custom sewn market bag which is functional, environmentally responsible and offers up great humble brag opportunities!
If you’re new to sewing machines, these classes are prerequisites for taking our other machine-based classes, and for use of our sew by the hour space.

Learn to sew, make some new friends and have tons of fun in our popular program for tweens and teens of all sewing abilities ages 8 and up. Â Students will get to choose from a selection of projects based on their interests and their sewing abilities.
Nestled in the heart of Regent Park, the Catering Collective is a group of men and women engaged in their community bringing passions for cooking, creativity, and learning together to foster personal and social development.
All learning will be hands on. Students will learn to navigate and operate a basic machine safely. Some beginner sewing techniques such as straight stitch, zig zag stitch and a double turn hem will be included.
Want it all, join me for a two hour class, once a week for six weeks. Your one on one class will include Machine Basics, Pattern Understanding, Fabric Store Tour, Apron, Blue Jean Pillow, shorts. If you use your machine, it must be in working order. Classes star
