In this class, our goal is to give you an intimidation-free orientation to machine basics like threading a machine, loading a bobbin, sewing a straight seam, and more. Plus you will leave with your very own custom sewn market bag which is functional, environmentally responsible and offers up great humble brag opportunities!
If you’re new to sewing machines, these classes are prerequisites for taking our other machine-based classes, and for use of our sew by the hour space.

Sewing is an extremely valuable life skill that everyone wants to have but most people have no clue where to begin. Here at the Haute Couture Academy of Fashion, Fine Arts & Design, we teach sewing from the most basic of beginner levels all the way up to the art of a professional design level.
Taking our Sewing 101 class will get you to the beginner level in just 3 hours! In this beginner class you will learn how to wind a bobbin, sew a straight line, and a variety of basic stitches to get you started on your sewing journey!
This sewing course will allow you to understand how a machine works so you can start creating your own projects! Our very first project will be making a small pouch with a zipper!
Learn to sew, make some new friends and have tons of fun in our popular program for tweens and teens of all sewing abilities ages 8 and up. Â Students will get to choose from a selection of projects based on their interests and their sewing abilities.
Bring your sewing machine and learn the basic skills needed to sew from a simple pattern. Learn to sew a comfy pair of pyjama pants for your first project. Your second project will be a bag with a zipper and buttonhole.
