Storyboarding is a visual blue print for an animated film. This eight week course will provide the basics of the craft of Story starting with the basics of film grammar, shot composition and common storytelling techniques. Students will undertake both a critical analytical breakdown of effective shot structure as well learn the foundations of how to take an idea from script to screen.
Each week will consist of a lecture component, a practical hands-on component and a collaborative element to help students familiarize themselves with the stages of storyboarding for animation from initial concept all the way through to pitching. There will be a heavy drawing component to this class, but all skill levels are welcome.
