RVYC was formed in 1903 as the Vancouver Yacht Club, receiving its Royal Warrant in 1906.We've come a long way since our floating clubhouse at the northern tip of Cardero.
Since the early days, the Club has developed into a year-round, full-service operation with seven offshore stations, three food & beverage outlets between the two home ports, enviable catering facilities.
Our membership of 5,000+ embraces all forms of yachting and social activities.
Our Clubhouse and Jericho home port are in the beautiful Point Grey residential area and offer easy access to English Bay (and to the myriad of cycling/walking routes the area cultivates).
Our Coal Harbour home port is nestled into the shores of Stanley Park, a stone's throw from the cycling path, park trails, and downtown Vancouver - our floating restaurant there, the Mermaid Inn serves breakfast and lunch daily.
The vistas over the bay from the Star & Dragon patio or the Marine Lounge's Upper Deck have given us the nickname of having the best view in Vancouver, and we wholeheartedly agree.
This is one of the entry levels in the series of Sail Canada courses on sailing keelboats and on Cruising.
For members new to sailing we offer introductory sail training on the best-maintained fleet of vessels out of Jericho Sailing Centre
Students will learn how to navigate the ship, hoist and lower sails, tie knots, and work together as a team.
This is an introduction to sailing for the young child with no previous experience. In stable, sturdy Optimist dinghies (designed specifically for beginners), sailors learn basic steering and sail control skills in a small-group environment.
The programs consist of standards that promote progressive training of skills and knowledge.
