This short introductory course is aimed at those students wishing to gain some understanding and some practical experience of bricklaying.

This course has been introduced to allow a complete novice to gain the confidence to go on to further studies within the bricklaying field and to potentially gain a qualification and eventually employment after further studies.

Over the weeks you will be developing skills and knowledge in the following:

  • How to prepare mortar for bricklaying tasks
  • How to spread and lay mortar beds for bricklaying activities
  • How to level, plumb and gauge brick courses
  • Construct a 10-brick pyramid
