You will be introduced to the different areas of specializations that exist and where you could find a place within the industry. This course also outlines the Design Process which includes understanding Customer Profiles, Finding Inspiration and how to develop a collection.
This course will also highlight the different niche markets in the fashion industry and help you to understand each step in the design process. You will be given the opportunity to put this into practice through developing your own collection.
This course is aimed at Fashion Design Enthusiasts who would like to broaden their knowledge on the roles within the fashion industry.
This course will also introduce you to the creative processes of Iconic Fashion Designers and will break down each step in that process, it will explain how you can draw inspiration to create your own unique fashion collections. No prior learning required.
Once you have completed this course you should have a good understanding of what fashion design includes from design through to production (an introduction to clothing design).
Know what Fashion designer’s do on a day to day basis as well as the characteristics of a well-rounded designer and be familiar with fashion terminology.

You learn how to use a sewing machine. You will also learn how to insert elastics, zips, buttons, hems and we teach you how to read a bought pattern. To practice your basic sewing skills you also complete 2 sewing projects.
