This SCQF Level 5 Counselling: An Introduction course has been designed for individuals who have an interest in, but no or limited previous knowledge and experience of studying Counselling.
This unit will introduce you to the purpose, and the basic concepts and processes, of Counselling, including the importance of reflective practice.
As this is an SCQF level 5 introductory unit to Counselling concepts and processes, it provides underpinning and basic knowledge of the subject, however, it does not, in any way, permit those who have achieved it to refer to themselves as qualified Counsellors.

This course is an SCQF Level 5 SQA unit and has 4 assessments attached to it. At the end of this course, successful students can apply for the SCQF Level 6 Counselling Theory for Practice: an Introduction unit and course of study, towards the SCQF Level 7 HNC in Counselling or COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills.

This course equips you with the basic counselling skills of listening and responding in helping roles.
This course follows on from the introduction course and will help you understand how counselling can help with relationships and communication. If you have already completed the introduction course, this course is the natural next step and will lead you towards accredited courses in counselling.
This course is aimed at anyone who is interested in pursuing a career as a counsellor or support worker and wants to learn about how counselling skills are used in everyday life.
This highly interactive and experiential workshop focuses primarily on the differences between working with adults and working with young people, helping you make the necessary cognitive and emotional adjustments between working with these two very different client groups.
This is a 10-week part-time programme which covers a range of topics relating to the theory and practice of using counselling skills. If you are just starting out on your journey to a successful career and are eager to learn more about counselling work.
