Never seen or used Excel before? Need to learn for an existing role, training or looking for work? This short Introduction to Excel session will give you the confidence to move around the Microsoft Excel 2010 software and understand the basics of formulas, calculations and layouts. You will be guided by a skilled and patient trainer in a one on one session.

This course covers the basic essentials of the 2010 version of Microsoft Excel. Participants will learn how to work with the Excel software and spreadsheets correctly. Many businesses and homeowners use Excel for mathematical functions and charts and most new users are surprised at how logical and easy the programme is to use.

Once users gain the confidence they can then progress onto the Intermediate level Produce Spreadsheets Excel class. The exercise files provided by WiseClick Training in this course are practical examples of common business scenarios such as analysing sales data for product information or sales reps.

Hands-on and practical, you will be using the programme on the student computers and your trainer will be doing revisions after each section of content is covered to reinforce what you have just been taught.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the Excel screen

  • Autofill

  • Entering basic formulae and the order Excel looks at them

  • Using sum, average, count, max, min

  • Absolute cell referencing

  • General and basic formatting

  • General and basic printing, headers and footers and page setup options

  • Saving, copying etc

 

Please note:

Attendees are encouraged to bring along a USB to save the exercise files.  The more you practise what you have learnt with our trainer the more confident you will become using the Excel software.
