Our Ethos
Maidstone Mediation seeks to help people find peaceful resolution to conflicts; to assist those who have been hurt by others, and those who have caused that hurt, to find ways to repair the harm.
Our Aims
To provide mediation for conflict resolution and Restorative Justice to the residents of Maidstone and district and the Mallings.
To train and support volunteer mediators to provide services to the community.
To develop inter-agency links and partnership arrangements with statutory and voluntary bodies in Kent.
To keep appropriate records and statistics and provide a service to any person needing that service irrespective of colour, gender, class, physical or mental ability.
To increase the uptake of mediation in a variety of settings, including mediation in neighbourhoods, schools, the workplace and the family.
To provide a Restorative Justice Service to victims of crime and offenders across Mid Kent, through partnerships with the Youth Offending Service, the Probation Service and the Sheppey Cluster of HM Prisons.
This course is aimed at individuals and provides an understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and how it can affect workplace practice.
Talking about mental health can be challenging but is essential in promoting a positive culture in which staff can feel valued and stigma surrounding mental health can be challenged.
Mindfulness can help us enjoy the world more and understand ourselves better by changing the way we think, feel and act. It involves developing an ability to become aware of what is happening in the present, moment-by-moment, rather than being on ‘automatic pilot’.
