Where will this course lead?

This is an introductory programme designed to give an overview of mentoring and coaching in a broad range of settings. The course will enable you to practice a range of mentoring techniques and strategies, build your confidence, and gain skills that you can apply in different working environments as well to your own life and career development.

You will develop your mentoring skills including applications like active listening, coaching models and target setting.

The course will be interactive and discussion focused and set in the friendly and relaxed setting of Yorkswood Evergreen Centre.

What will I study?

  • This is an introductory course. You will:

  • Find out about mentoring and coaching techniques

  • Practice techniques with peers and on your self

  • Develop confidence and communication skills

What qualifications will I get?

This is a non accredited course.

How will I be assessed?

Students will create a portfolio of their work and this will be assessed throughout the duration of the course, plus one observation of students in the role of a Learning Mentor.
