To learn to use PowerPoint to create text charts, organisation charts, pie charts, bar charts etc. in the most time efficient and straightforward manner. The course will emphasise the use of templates and the slide master for consistency in a presentation and includes successful use of the Slideshow feature with multimedia effects for on-screen presentations.

Uses and elements of PowerPoint

  • Different ways to present information

  • The various PowerPoint views: Slide view; Normal View; Outline view

  • Speakerâ??s Notes and Audience Handouts

  • Screen layout and toolbox

  • Entering text to form a presentation outline in both Slide and Outline view

 

Formatting text at the character level

  • Changing font and size

  • Applying type styles

  • Formatting Smart Tag

 

Paragraph formatting

  • Changing bullets

  • Adjusting indents

 

Restructuring text in a slide

  • Moving up and down one line

  • Promoting and demoting text to a different level within the same or a different slide

 

Charts and Graphs

  • Creating Organisation charts

  • Creating bar, line, pie and other charts

 

Making changes to individual slides

  • Use of the layout button to change layout style quickly

  • Re-applying the Slide Master
