Course Details

The Introduction to Project Management – Foundation for Success course is an online, self-paced, 40- hour, twelve module comprehensive course that provides content that aligns with the Project Management Institute (PMI) “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)”. This guide is a recognized and accepted standard of knowledge as related to project management world-wide.

As you proceed through this course, you will build a solid foundation of project management knowledge, techniques and tools that cover the entire project life cycle.

This course focuses on preparing graduates to understand project management and how to apply the success principles of project management to projects.

At the end of the program, students should leave with the knowledge, vocabulary and skills needed to successfully manage projects in professional situations and qualify to write the Project Management Institute (PMI) exam to become a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Project management uses specific knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to deliver something of value to people. The development of software for an improved business process, the construction of a building, the relief effort after a natural disaster and the expansion of sales into a new geographic market—are all examples of projects.

As a project manager, you will feel rewarded when you keep your schedule on track, meet the budget and collaborate with colleagues to ensure everything runs efficiently. Project managers help companies improve efficiency and save money to improve an organization’s overall performance.

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit Survey, 90% of global senior executives ranked project management methods as either critical or somewhat important in their ability to deliver successful projects and remain competitive. Project management skills will allow you to get things done successfully, regardless of your industry — from advertising to zookeeping.
