Taking our Sewing 101 class will get you to the beginner level in just 3 hours! In this beginner class you will learn how to wind a bobbin, sew a straight line, and a variety of basic stitches to get you started on your sewing journey!
Class 1: Down To Basics & Cushion Cover
Get acquainted with the sewing machine and basic tools of the trade. Learn how to thread a machine, sew in a straight line and a few other stitches. Apply these techniques by making your very own cushion cover.
Class 2: Canvas Tote
Make a multi-purpose tote and learn about topstitching, reinforcement stitching, and how to finish raw seams.
Class 3: Zips
Step it up a notch and throw a zipper into the mix. Expand your skills by inserting a zip into a lined wash bag and add hand sewing onto your resume.
Class 4: Basic Alterations
From hemming to taking in side seams for a better fit, gain valuable skills to help you alter and repair your clothes

This weekly 1 hr. class introduces students to Basic Sewing using the Kids Can Sew Workbook Level 1 for Girls/Boys or Teens. while working through the Kids Can Sew Workbook students will complete a project approximately every 4 weeks.
Limiting yourself to lap quilts? Learn to quilt your own double, queen, and king size quilts on your domestic machine. Bring in your completed blocks and learn how to do it.
Looking to learn how to sew and meet others with likeminded interests? Then group courses are for you. Come explore project-based learning in an intimate group setting right here in London, Ontario. We offer a safe and fun environment for learning, with both adult and kid's classes available.
Discover what sewing tools are a 'must' and which ones you might invest in later. Create a versatile, reversible tote bag with pockets or a practical butcher style apron.  The patterns are designed by a Canadian company, Helen's Closet, and they're free.
Bring your sewing machine and Katherine will teach you the skills you need to create an apron, a microwaveable potholder bowl, a placemat with a cutlery pocket, and a tea towel hanger. This class is for kids aged 9 to 15.
