There will be the opportunity to have a “play”, experimenting with different stitches. It will allow you to familiarise yourself with the machines used by Happy Hare, enabling you to go on and enrol on one of our other sewing classes.
All materials will be provided.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and homemade cake are included.
Happy Hare have been making and selling handmade craft items for around the last five years. We now have premises, so we are able to offer a range of fabrics, suitable for dressmaking and patchwork, and most of the other bits and pieces you will need to get you started on your projects.
This 10-week course is designed to introduce you to the fundamental skills of sewing. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this course will provide you with the knowledge and practical experience to create your own garments and home decor.
The Dressmaking course we offer is suitable for both beginners and progressing sewing students. Delivered in a step by step process within 10 weeks, beginners will go from learning how to thread machine to wearing their finished garment.
Learn to make funky and practical changemats, bibs and bunting especially for your little one during the 4 x 2hr sessions. Quick and simple patterns. One-to-one tuition to guide you at this fun and creative workshop will enable you to make them again and again.
In these six evening sessions you will learn how to create four of our in-house sewing patterns and master a range of techniques to get you confidently started on your sewing journey. By the end of the course you will have a range of beautiful, functional items for your life and home.
The sewing classes have been a great way for attendees to make friends with people with similar interests. Every attendee got the opportunity to socialise in a safe environment, even throughout the pandemic. Attendees could fine-tune their skills or learn from scratch with a professional tutor.
