In this course, participants will learn the recent research and science on the impact of trauma on child development, and the implications for professionals who work in the residential care setting. In addition, participants will be introduced to Trauma Informed Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (TI-PBIS) programme that KVC Health Systems has developed to create a positive and supportive environment that provides structure, education and motivation for children to learn new pro-social and effective behaviours.

Participants will learn how TI-PBIS provide evidence-based approaches to reduce the frequency of disruptive behaviour in children and young persons, while helping to build routines and practices that can be used by all team members within a residential care setting.
