Under the supervision of one of our experienced instructors, you will be taken up in one of our aircraft and have given the opportunity to take the controls. Feel what it’s like to fly an airplane and see what Ottawa looks like from above.

First Step:
Once you have decided to start your flight training, now’s the time to sign up for the next Private Pilot Ground School class and begin your flight training sessions with an instructor. You will be paired up with a flight instructor who will work with you through all your flight training sessions and help you advance through all the stages of your flight training.
Most people choose to begin their flight training with a Private Pilot Licence because of the many options it offers after completion. Whether you are flying for recreation or for a career this is the place to start.

The Ottawa Flying Club, or OFC for short, was originally founded in 1928 and given the mandate to promote aviation in Canada through flight training and support for general aviation.
We have remained true to that vision for over 80 years, training thousands of pilots over the decades while providing a supportive and friendly environment for our members and students.
The Private Pilot License (PPL) is a fundamental step in your pilot training journey at Journey Air Pilot Training.
This course provides cadets an opportunity to become a single engine power pilot and participate in various ground and aviation training, resulting in qualification and certification as a power pilot.
Student pilot permit is required and can be attained at age 14 (for solo flight). PPL application which can be completed at age 17.
In order to apply for the Pilot Certificate endorsed for Advanced Operations, the operator must successfully pass the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System – Advanced Operations exam, and then subsequently complete a flight review.
This course provides the simulator, ground school, aircraft or line indoctrination instructor with the tools required to excel and provide top quality instruction to his or her students.
