This course is designed to give you a good understanding of a variety of careers within the Travel and Tourism industry and will give you a range of skills and knowledge required for employment. If you have aspirations to work in the travel and tourism industry doing jobs such as cabin crew, tour guide, holiday rep or work on a cruise liner then this is the course for you.
You will learn about different aspects of the Travel and Tourism industry both in the UK and abroad. There is a balance of classroom based theory and practical activity. Theory lessons include developing personal attributes, planning for activities, researching areas of interest and learning about practices and processes. Practical lessons invole participating in team and leadership activities.
The Travel and Tourism department at BMet pride itself on the range of trips that are on offer to our students. Previous trips have include Birmingham International Airport, Hilton Hotel, Madame Tussauds and the London Dungeons, Stratford Upon Avon, York and New York.

We offer full-time courses for school leavers including A Levels and vocational qualifications, full-time Access to Higher Education courses, part-time adult professional development, entry level and recreational courses as well as full and part-time degree level study.
On this programme you will also learn about worldwide travel destinations tour operators' products and services package holidays special interest holidays independent travel promotions and sales in travel and tourism conferences and events.
Compulsory units on the programme are Customer Service, Hospitality within Travel and Tourism, UK airports and Airlines, Careers within Travel and Tourism and Travel Agencies Work experience will be carried out over two weeks and will be undertaken in local travel/hospitality related businesses.
This course will provide participants with an understanding of weight and balance principles. Become familiar with the terminology used in load planning and appreciate the consequences of an overweight or out-of-balance aircraft.
