Autodesk inventor computer-aided design (cad) software provides professional-quality 3d mechanical design, product documentation and simulation tools. You'll be able to work more efficiently with a powerful combination of parametric, direct, freeform, and rules-based design capabilities.

The software makes it easy to create custom products and automate processes.

With the Inventor - Beginner training , you will be able to model mechanical parts in 3D, create assemblies and produce 2D drawings. All online and at your own pace.

The training modules are available online at any time for a period of 60 days. A teacher answers your questions throughout the training.

It is important to note that:

  • Inventor runs on Windows only
  • Does not work in Mac or ChromeOS environment

You must have Inventor 2019 or newer to open the exercise files provided in the course. Autodesk, the publisher of Inventor, offers a free educational version of the software upon presentation of proof of registration for a course. Instructions for installing the software will be sent to you following your registration.

Goals:

  • Carry out 3D modeling of parts.
  • Use these parts to make mechanical assemblies and study their movements.
  • Create a 2D drawing of the parts and assemblies by adding dimensions and annotations.

This unique course offers 4 modules. You are invited to watch video clips online, at your own pace, then complete the practical exercises that accompany them.

Module 1: Overview of the Inventor interface

  • File Management
  • Drawing units
  • Sketch Constraints

Module 2: Modeling of mechanical parts

  • 3D part modeling functions
  • Extrusion
  • Revolution
  • Scanning
  • Symmetry
  • Repetition
  • Rounding and chamfers, etc.
  • Reference geometries

Module 3: assembly of mechanical parts

  • Assembly constraints
  • Coincidence
  • Distance
  • Parallelism
  • Perpendicularity
  • Corner
  • Symmetry
  • Etc.

Module 4: Creating a 2D drawing

  • 2D drawing tools
  • Orthogonal drawing views, details, sections, interrupted, etc.
  • Using a cartridge
  • Dimensioning and dressing the drawing

This unique course offers 4 modules. You are invited to watch video clips online, at your own pace, then complete the practical exercises that accompany them

The training is aimed at professionals and students in all these fields:

  • Mechanical manufacturing
  • Engineering
