Managing Safely concentrates on training the manager, or supervisor, to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues as part of a total risk management strategy.  This course is specifically designed to equip your managers and supervisors with the knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm to effectively discharge their health and safety responsibilities in the workplace.

• On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

• describe the legal frameworks relating to health and safety at work

• understand why incidents involving injury or damage occur

• recognise the hazards likely to be present in their place of work and the type of action which may be needed to control and manage them

• know the specific procedures used in assessing risks, developing control strategies and evaluating performance

• understand the responsibilities of employers and themselves in relation to safety and health and the procedures for dealing with breaches of those responsibilities

• communicate effectively on health and safety matters with those who work for them, with those they report to, and with specialist safety and health practitioners whom they approach for guidance

• Each course is delivered by one of our excellent IOSH certified trainers and include practical activities with a sharp business focus, such as:

• Assessment is completed through a multi-format written examination at the end of the course, as well as completion of a practical project which is based around each delegate’s individual workplace and submitted two weeks after the end of the course.
