Course Details

Course Overview: 

IPAF Training enables employers to comply with the "Working at Height Regulations 2005" (WAHR 05), Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 Sect 2 and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 Regulation 9. The training ensures that those involved in work at height are trained and competent. The training also helps operators to work more efficiently and productively. Successful trainees will receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence), valid for 5 years. The PAL card details the equipment categories the holder has been trained to operate.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of the course, the delegate will: - Be fully aware of the relevant Health & Safety regulations & Accident prevention & Control - Be fully aware of the needs regarding personal protection equipment - Be able to maneuver the machine as required & drive the machine proficiently & safely - Be able to correctly position & carry out the required tasks in a correct & proper manner

Course Content: 

This course ensures that delegates gain sufficient understanding of current legislation and learn skills which will ensure safe use of the vehicles. Topics covered include: - Introduction - Pre-theory Test - MEWP Categories - Structural Parts - Regulation & Guidance - Pre-use Inspection / Handover - Safe operating methods and hazards - Theory Test (Pass/Fail) - Practical Training - Practical Assessment (Pass/Fail) - License Renewal - Log Books - Course review and evaluation

Course Aim: 

This course gives successful delegate’s knowledge of relevant Regulations, Codes of Practice and good safe working practices along with hands-on practical skills to enable them to safely use mobile powered access equipment. The aim of this course: - Delegates emerge as safer, more capable and confident operators - Reduced risk of accidents and incidents
