On this International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) operator training course delegates will learn how to safely select, check and operate the 3A (scissor lift) and 3B (self-propelled boom) MEWP machines. The delegate should ensure that they are both physically fit and able to bring along both safety shoes and hard Hat for the practical part of the training..

Who Should Attend

 

Designed for any person who wishes to operate either a scissor lift (category 3a) or a self propelled boom (3b) MEWP (powered access platform).

Course Agenda

The IPAF Operator (3a & 3b) training course commences with a comprehensive introduction to the IPAF and its role in promoting safe and effective use of powered access platforms. This is followed by an in-depth discussion on the types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) their applications and limitations.

The second part of the course delves into the pre-operational and operational safety checks required for MEWPs. Learners will be guided on how to examine the structural parts safety devices and other essential components of the equipment. This section also covers the correct procedures for setting up operating and securing MEWPs. The third segment is dedicated to the practical training. Participants will be given the opportunity to operate different types of MEWPs under the supervision of experienced trainers.

In addition the course will cover emergency procedures including how to respond to equipment failures and accidents. The final part of the course is the theoretical and practical assessments. Participants will be evaluated based on their understanding of the course material and their ability to operate MEWPs safely and efficiently.

Accreditation

 

Upon successful completion of the IPAF Operator (IPAF Operator 3a & 3b) training course, the candidate will be awarded the IPAF PAL Card (Powered Access Licence).

This internationally recognised certification is issued by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and is valid for five years. The PAL Card serves as proof that the holder has been trained to operate powered access equipment safely and effectively.

It is recognised by regulatory bodies and employers across the globe, making it a valuable asset for anyone working in industries where powered access equipment is used.

The Course is delivered over a whole day, theory in the morning, practical in the afternoon.
