It will introduce you to the language, giving you the basic tools to communicate with others with a focus on speaking and interacting in Irish. You will learn how to talk about your hobbies and local area, your daily life and much more. The emphasis will be on speaking and listening, but reading and writing activities will also feature.
Learners will play an active part in each class, with group work allowing them to practise what they have learned. The course will be conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and provide the first steps in learning more about a langauge that is all around us.
We are a vibrant community arts centre and cultural hub where everyone can experience the power of the arts and develop their creativity as we lead the way in artistic development and entertainment.
We provide opportunities for people to meet, be inspired, experience and participate in a wide range of art forms and our offering is simple! Each week we have a whole host of live events, offer a diverse learning programme and provide spaces for exhibitions.
Our Irish speakers, fully qualified to teach their native tongue, can train you and, if need be, the rest of your group at a time that is suitable to you, at your home or place of work.
Irish language course is offered by Belfast Met. Our learning environment, at centres around Belfast, is fun and adult friendly, and you can be confident that all our part-time course teacher have extensive knowledge and experience they’d love to share with you!
This semester the Language Centre will be offering over 80 classes in 14 different languages. Classes range from Beginners to Post A level and are available in Irish. This semester we will have both online and in person teaching.
