The Casey O'Loughlin Academy of Irish Dance was founded in Calgary over ten years ago by former Riverdance lead dancer and champion Irish Dancer, Cara Casey-O'Loughlin.
Dancers in this class will learn traditional and Riverdance styles of Irish Step, including both hard shoe and soft shoe dance. This style is characterized by its intricate footwork, and rhythm-based movement.
Our goal is to teach Irish dancing to the best of each student’s ability, and to instill a real sense of joy in competition, performance and teamwork.
Traditional forms of Celtic dance have inspired what is currently taught in classes, and can vary in style.
