The McAleer Irish Dance School was founded by Kathleen McAleer ADCRG. Kathleen has provided expert tuition to children and adults in Irish Dance for over 35 years
In 1996, Kathleen was joined by her daughter Fiona Holmes ADCRG, who is now the principal of the school.
In 2010, the McAleer Irish Dance School relocated to Pakenham and continues to provide the very best tuition in Irish Dance for children from 18 months of age, right through to our adult class.
2011 was the year the talented and world-renowned John Carey ADCRG joined our teaching team as our workshop teacher, providing our students with another perspective and many wonderful experiences
In 2012, the school welcomed Leanne McCall TCRG and Clare McAleer TCRG to our teaching team, after both ladies became qualified teachers.
In September of 2016, Fiona Holmes undertook her adjudication exam and Jacquie Bigby, Johanna Daly, Hayley Davies and Laura McBride all took their teaching exam to become fully qualified teachers.
The McAleer Irish Dance School’s objective is to provide all students with a high quality of tuition, allowing each student to reach their full potential, whilst developing a passion for dancing.
Our Irish Dance teachers are all qualified and registered with the Australian Irish Dancing Association and the Irish Dancing Commission in Ireland.
The McAleer School is one of the premier schools in Australia, with students winning State and National tittles in both solo and team events since 1974. Our students have danced and placed at the World Championship, as well as toured professionally with shows such as Lord of the Dance.
