The Level 1 ISAK Anthropometry course is designed for Sport & Exercise Science students, strength and conditioners, nutritionists, sports rehabilitators or physiotherapists who need to carry out anthropometric profiling of clients. The course will be delivered by a Level 3 Accredited ISAK instructor, Hannah van Buuren.
Entry Criteria: 18 years +. It is recommended that learners have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs, however exemptions may be made for adult returners with relevant experience.
Delivery: A blended learning delivery method includes in-person practical delivery at the University of Bath over three days.

Course syllabus and assessment
During the Anthropometry course you will experience both practical and theoretical learning. Theoretical components of the course include topics such as anatomy, body composition and somatotype.
Practical application includes the measurement of a restricted profile (height, mass, eight skinfolds, five girths, two breadths), adhering to the standard required by ISAK. You will study how measures enable monitoring of health and growth variables and calculation of somatotype.
Assessment:
Demonstration of accurate precision in the assessment of a Restricted Profile. The demonstration will be assessed on intra-tester reliability (how repeatable your own measurements are) and inter-tester reliability (how accurate you are compared with criterion measures);
Submission of 20 profiles within a four-month period.
