St. Patrick, our mission is to personalize adult education as we believe education can be the pathway to a brighter future. We strive to meet the needs of adults in our community with high-quality and varied program options throughout our community.
In addition to adult education, St. Patrick offers some programs for elementary and secondary students. At a glance, we offer programs in:
Adult Credit: Courses designed for adult learners who want to complete their high school diploma
English as a Second Language (ESL): Classes for non-English speaking individuals, designed to provide life and work skills, prepare students for citizenship, assist work towards high school diploma, and prepare for college
Essential Skills Training: Non-credit program with courses for adults who wish to update their skills for employment, education and training with a focus on completing your high school diploma
Literacy & Numeracy for Youth: Programs designed to assist students in grades 7-10 who struggle in the various math strands as well as reading, writing and discussion skills
International Languages Programs: Non-credit language classes available to elementary students *credit classes in some languages for secondary students
St. Patrick recognizes that adult learners have a variety of goals: achieving a post-secondary pathway, earning high school credits, improving literacy and numeracy skills, academic upgrading, learning English as a Second Language and more. To get there, our guidance department is here to help.

Although English and French are Canada’s official languages, you’ll hear many other unofficial languages across the country. Among the most popular ones is Italian, a Romance language spoken by approximately 85 million people worldwide that is in demand right now due to all the amazing doors.
Italian course is offered by Greater Essex County District School Board. Our courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced teacher who are extremely dedicated to ensuring you leave with all the necessary skills to broaden your horizons and never be lost for words again.
Topics will include greetings and introductions, occupations and studies, the telephone, dates and times, asking for prices and travel information, personal details, language for use in bars and restaurants, making hotel reservations, banking and invitations.
Italian Beginner 1 If you have little or no previous knowledge of Italian, this is the right level for you. In this immersive course, learn to share information about yourself and ask basic questions using the present tense.
